Escaping from an island prison brings with it another challenge to cross the water to free the land. This can be done by building a temporary raft or by enlisting outside help from a boat owner. In Russia, escaping from prison is a criminal offense that can result in an increase in the prisoner`s sentence of up to four years.  Many methods have been used over time to escape prison. Many escapes were successfully carried out by prisoners who invented their own methods.
